New date for Durham Small Boats Head

The Durham Small Boats Head will now take place on Sunday 17th February, after rising river levels and fallen trees forced organisers to postpone the original February 2nd event.

Entries for the rearranged head race will open on British Rowing’s Online Entry system on Tuesday morning (February 5th), closing at 8pm on Friday 8th.

Crews will race in four divisions, over a 1800m course upstream along Durham’s River Wear. For a full list of the boat types and categories on offer, visit www.durham-arc.org.uk/durhamsbh.

The original February 2nd event attracted 400 crews – a record entry for the annual Durham ARC-organised head race.
