Events revealed for the 2012 DJRC

A list of events has been revealed for the Diamond Jubilee Rowing Championships (DJRC) – a one-off event in October that brings with it a number of important implications for rowing coaches ahead of the 2013 season.

Any rowers wishing to trial for the GB Rowing Team’s senior or U23 squads in the 2013 season are required to have raced at the DJRC at Eton Dorney.

Potential trialists should race for their club or in a composite boat in a double scull or coxless four (Saturday 21st October) or a quadruple scull or eight (Sunday 22nd) to be eligible for the first GB Rowing Team assessment in November. The only exceptions to this are those rowers who compete at the London 2012 Olympic Regatta.

The DJCR will also see the introduction of the new J19 category, in a move that organisers hope will help to bridge the gap between Junior and Senior rowing in the UK.

The format of racing each day for all events will be a Time Trial, seeded Semi-Finals and Finals A, B, C, D etc for all crews. At the end of the event, each crew will have a ranking.
