Success at the JIRR for the North West

The Junior Inter-Regional Championships saw a great display of the strength and quality of junior rowing across the country. After 25 events and 9 hours of very exciting racing, with several photo finishes, the North West region claimed the overall team trophy. The North West also took the Girls’ trophy whilst the Thames Upriver took the Boys’ Trophy.

Mike Martin, Chairman of the ARA Junior Rowing Commitee, and Di Ellis, ARA Chairman, were on hand to present the prizes. Di Ellis said: "All credit must go to not only the young rowers but also to their coaches, helpers, parents and the volunteers who made this a day to remember."
