Indoor Championships 2008 – Western Region

The Western Region was well represented at the British Indoor Rowing Championships, held in Birmingham on October 26th.

The biggest contingent came from the Plymouth Rowing Forum, with 32 pupils from seven Plymouth schools taking part in the event, as part of a trip organised by Plymouth Community Coach Kevin Sellar.

All pupils set personal bests, with finishing positions ranging from 2nd to 75th.
Best results of the day came from Jacob Dawson from Plymstock School, who won a silver in the Men’s J15 event, and Alex Rowe of Devonport High School for Boys and Dart Totnes RC, who won a bronze in the Men’s J14 event.

A silver medal was also won by Marcus Bowyer of Exeter RC in the Men’s J16 event. Standout performance of the day came from Barnaby Stentiford of Dart Totnes RC, who won the Men’s J18 event in a time of 6:07.6
