World Rowing Awards – 2008 finalists announced

The finalists in the World Rowing 2008 Awards will be narrowed down to one in each category with the winners announced during the gala dinner at the World Rowing Coaches Conference in Paris, France, on Saturday 8th November.

Jurgen Grobler is a finalist in the category of World Rowing Coach of the Year.  From 1972 to 1988 Jurgen was producing gold medal crews in East Germany and his winning ways didn’t desert him when he moved to Great Britain in 1991.

Chris Dodd, rowing journalist and author of ‘The History of Rowing’, has been selected as a finalist for his Distinguished Service to International Rowing.
