Once again chilly conditions at the venue greeted competitors with a strong wind over the 1,000 metre course creating choppy water with some ‘white horses’ at the exposed start. As a result of the conditions the Under 14 double and single sculls races were shortened to 500 metres.

Some clubs, including Dart Totnes, sent fewer than their normal regatta entry to Falmouth, which coincided with the National Rowing Championships of Great Britain, but entries were still up on last year.
